A pivotal moment came during Taylor’s junior year of high school when he drew a late-season rifle bull elk tag, in a very coveted unit. At 17, alongside his dad, he glassed a trophy bull across a canyon more than 800 yards away. Armed only with his grandfather’s rifle, a pair of budget binoculars, and a general-store scope, he attempted the shot — but came up short, never to see the bull again. It wasn’t just the equipment; it was a lack of training and experience at that distance. What felt like failure in the moment sparked something greater: a lifelong commitment to mastering the craft.

In 2011, Taylor became a licensed hunting guide. In the high-pressure world of Western big game hunting, he helped hunters turn once-in-a-lifetime tags into lasting memories and friendships. Through these experiences, he recognized a major need in the industry: hunting rifles that delivered benchrest-level precision in a platform built for real-world, backcountry conditions. As advancements in technology and equipment evolved, so did the need for proper training to use it effectively.

Taylor was fortunate to learn from three exceptional mentors who taught him the fundamentals of rifle building, machining, shooting principles, handloading, ballistics, and the modern tools changing the game for today’s hunters. He combined that knowledge with years in the field to create high-performance rifles, custom ammunition, and practical shooter training — all with one goal: to help hunters succeed with intent and purpose, not just luck.
