LOAD DEVELOPMENT

Target shooting paper with five targets, each with bullet holes. The targets are marked with numbers 1 to 5, and have spaces for recording rifle, bullet, powder, brass, primer, and other details. The words "HIGHT RIFLE DEVELOPMENT" are printed across the center.

Custom Load Development That Delivers

At Haught Rifle Development, we know a precision rifle is only as good as the ammo behind it. That’s why we offer custom load development tailored specifically to your rifle — not a generic recipe pulled from a reloading manual, but a tested and refined solution that produces results in the real world.

Whether we built your rifle or you're sending us one of your own, our goal is the same: to develop a consistent, accurate, and repeatable load that gives you complete confidence when it’s time to make the shot.

Why Custom Load Development Matters

Factory ammo has its place, but serious hunters know its limitations. Small inconsistencies in bullet seating, powder charges, or velocity can mean big misses in the field — especially at longer ranges. Our load development process eliminates those variables by tuning everything specifically to your rifle’s chamber, barrel harmonics, and intended use.

The result? Tight groups, reliable dope, and first-shot hits when it counts.

Our Process

Every load development package includes:

  • Brass prep & annealing

  • Powder selection and ladder testing

  • Seating depth tuning (OCW & jump test)

  • Velocity tracking and SD/ES analysis

  • 100–1600 yard validation

  • Finalized load recipe, including charge weight, seating depth, velocity, and COAL

  • Documentation with full ballistic profile

We use high-end tools and methods to remove guesswork and dial in consistent, real-world performance — not just lab numbers.

You Send the Rifle – We Do the Rest

We offer full-service load development for customers who ship us their rifles. Once received, we’ll:

  1. Inspect and verify rifle condition

  2. Mount optics (if needed) and confirm torque specs

  3. Conduct full load development and accuracy validation

“I am the lucky owner of a Haught custom built rifle chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum.  The first time I shot the rifle at the range, we thought maybe I was missing paper at 100 yards on my second and third shots. Turns out they were in the same hole! I have owned it now for almost five years and the accuracy continues to be phenomenal with the hand loads that Taylor developed for the rifle and even sub MOA with commercial loads. The build is fantastic!”
